OAP Wins Free Double Glazing

george meldumOne lucky old aged pensioner has been given an early Christmas present by winning a draw that netted him five thousands pounds worth of free double glazing. Transview, a family run double glazing and conservatory firm based in Alloa, offered the prize to elderly locals in November this year.

George Meldum, from Dunblane, was the lucky winner and is delighted with the prize. George’s niece nominated him for the prize after hearing it on radio station Central FM. Aged 92, George has been living in his house for years with aging timber glazing that desparately needed replacing.

The new windows provided by Transview will combat the ongoing battle of fuel poverty for this fortunate pensioner and provide additional warmth during the harsh winter months.

Gordon Guthrie, Operations Director of Transview, said “It’s an honour to give something back the local community and be in a position to provide new windows for someone that desperately needs it. The new double glazing will reduce the heat lost through George’s old windows by up to 40%”.

As the credit crunch looms over the heads of billions around the globe and an estimated 2.5 million people live in fuel poverty, Transview is setting a new standard by caring for the local community one household at a time.
